The Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DSS) is one of the flourishing departments of Sree Ramu College of Arts and Science, Pollachi. This department was established in 2017, offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses on Defence studies. This Department has been building up institutional knowledge about various aspects of India’s national security and also working towards imparting relevant and contemporary education, in the field of Security Studies, thereby nurturing human resources towards Sustainable Development. Being the course of National importance our objective is to inculcate training in nationalism, service to nation through uniform services and sensitize various security issues. Falling in line with the Fundamental Duties of our Constitution, Youngsters are to be motivated in readiness, obedience to rightful authority and to provide voluntary services at times of need. Furthermore, the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies aims to build the capacity of younger generation in the field of national security through critical analyses, thereby creating security awareness. The department aspires to serve as a platform for creating leaders and scholars.
